Here's Sarah's bath mat - it became a bit of a bath carpet. The border really seemed to make it so much bigger. Optical illusion? Maybe. Anyway it was fun to knit and may serve a true purpose IF it fits in her bathroom. What's next, you may be asking yourself, or you may NOT be asking yourself. I think it's going to be the baby kimono from MDK, again with cotton, Sugar 'n Cream. It's raining here so what else could I do to fill my time.

Erin's Sweater

Erin's Sweater - perfect timing. She's coming to visit this weekend so no mailing! Notice the label, it says "Handknit for Erin by Amy" and has washing instructions. I got it from knittidbits - where else?

And a close up of the label, sorry for the poor photo. And Sarah's bath mat - is almost done, just 2 more sides for the border ...
Happy knitting and happy day

St. Patrick's Day - Paddy O'Knitty

Just got back from the LYS (that's local yarn store - for you non-knitters out there). Picked up some yummy cotton in ecru and white (not the Lion Brand organic that I've been after) for Sara's bathmat. Can't wait to start.

Erin's sweater is coming along nicely, striping is working out great. I'll have a photo to share soon.

Projects on the horizon? Baby hats for the gift shop at work, maybe even a money-making (not profit making) venture for me. We'll see.

Have a great St. Patrick's Day - especially all of you out there who can count themselves among the few, the proud, the St. Patrick's graduates - or almost graduates (Andy). Everyone remember the St. Pat's carnival, voting with pennys for the King and Queen. Go Knights.

peace and green thoughts

March 16th/2nd post

I want to know how to add photos then text then more photos - I'm going to tackle that one today.

This is a sweater that I made for an older gentleman - a father of one of the nurses at work. I had a hard time securing the yarn for this but once it was finally delivered the knitting was simple.

And another and I'm done . . .
So you may have seen this one already. Will trying on a dog sweater that I made.

Mason Dixson Bibs

A few baby bibs - 6 to be exact - for a girl at work. Again, super easy and fast in Peaches & Cream cotton, 3 skeins. The pattern? Again, Mason Dixson Knitting. A must have book for every knitter!

Here a few baby hats and socks. Made from a helix hat pattern and sugar and cream cotton - super easy way to stripe, no messy ends to deal with. If you're interested in the pattern - ask in the comments.

Dolores' Slippers

Thurs morn blog number 2. So I've surmised that this is NOT the place to upload a bunch of photos. Here's the slippers, both felted and unfelted. The telephone is for size reference only.

yellow day (sarah that's for you!)
peace/out

Yea - pictures can be downloaded!

This seems appropriate to start my new blog with Herky. I'm an Iowa grad from what now seems like the dark ages, 1989. No internet, no home computers (too expensive), no blogging. I'm thankful as I never would have graduated - spending all my time on the internet.

Okay enough - now to the important things in life, my family, my kids and my knitting.

I'm addicted already. I've figured out that I can blog during Rosie, perfect.

If you're still having trouble getting photos uploaded, I solved that by using Foxfire as the browser. I still have some kinks to work out - like picture placement.
Believe me, todays blogging has just begun.
